While we are excited about great design and bringing powerful results to our clients, we are passionate about our work with Children’s HopeChest. Since 2009, we have had the privilege of partnering with the Adacar community located in the Katakwi District in the Teso region of Northeastern Uganda.
Over the past 50 years the Adacar community has suffered massive displacement due to the Karamojong people group, neighboring nomadic herdsman, causing death and untold suffering. Further suffering was caused by the June 2003 attack of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) which resulted in children being abducted from their communities, and many of them forced to kill their parents and others as initiation into the LRA. The people of Adacar’s economic livelihoods were disrupted resulting in abject poverty, a loss of identity, disease and death. The spreading of the HIV/AIDS virus and malaria has also increased the orphan population in Adacar over the past few years raising the need for aid among the children in the community.
For the last several years, we’ve seen a devastated group of people grow into a self-sustained, thriving community. We’re humbled to be a part of their lives.
