Loudmark, through its work with Beekeeper Group, was honored with a 2013 Communicator Award for the design of the Driving Fuel Economy website — http://www.drivingfueleconomy.com.
The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, videos and marketing programs. Simply put, the W³ is the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between.
Loudmark, in partnership with the Beekeeper Group, received honors for its design work on an Alzheimer’s Association website at the 16th Annual Webby Awards and the 18th Annual Communicator Awards.
Last week the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) announced the award winners for the 112th Congress. Loudmark took home 17 awards, including Platinum Awards for Rep. Paul Ryan and the Committee on Education and the Workforce for being the #1 House Member and #1 Committee website. That’s 29 total awards between designs submitted for the 111th and 112th Congress — more than any other organization.
“Fast, Good and Cheap” represents three facets of every project — schedule, quality and budget. Generally, the option of applying all three is considered impractical. Instead, the “Tyranny of OR” is applied: Fast and Good, OR Good and Cheap, OR Fast and Cheap. A company that wants something “Fast and Good” is going to pay a lot of money for it, OR “Good and Cheap” is going to wait longer for production, OR “Fast and Cheap” is going to lack a quality product.
If you’re spending all of this time writing and launching a landing page, don’t you think it would be worth a little extra time to make sure the only light of day it sees isn’t through a tab on your website, or through your selective email list? Keyword research, in its simplest form, is easy.
A couple years ago, my wife got into a recycling frenzy. Not a bad thing, although the toilet paper got a little rough. The worst thing was probably the worm composter in our garage, which had a tendency to overflow with nasty brown liquid — perfect for our garden, but our dog liked to roll in it before jumping into our bed for the evening. Yum. Needless to say, we’ve started looking for new ways to recycle.
As a former Blackberry user now iPhone fanatic, I love this cartoon by C-Section Comics. Of course, the chief reason Blackberry users don’t switch to iPhones is because of the loss of the Qwerty keyboard. What excuse will they have once the iPhone 5 comes out with their new pop-out keyboard?!
If you don’t know Edgar Muller by name, you more than likely know him by his street art. The German artist shows his stuff below in a time lapse video on one of his works called The Crevasse. Julian Beever is also another well-known street artist. Chances are you’ve gotten a mass email with the subject line “This is amazing!!! Now forward on to 50 of your closest friends.” I don’t usually forward anything, but these guys are worth a little hero worship.
I fell out of my chair reading this comic strip on the creative process by James Turner. Us artists like to pretend there’s a process, but most of the time it’s just a wrestling match.
